This.  If you want to attract quality coaches and athletes you gotta have the facilities.   At the minimum I hope some new blood can at least make us competitive because right now the program is in a bad, bad place.

When football moves out, the current facility would effectively be a spring sports facility like UF's.  I don't when the last time the actual track was replaced.  What other facilities would they need?

As @NewEnglandBull mentioned there is cosmetic stuff that needs to be done to the stands/stadium, better landscaping etc for the field events area, essentially a true face lift to the facilities.  Yes the track was resurfaced but there's still other stuff that needs to be done.

Track team sucked... we fired the coach for sucking so badly.  Good.  Now higher a new one and we can move on.

It doesn’t take any guts to fire an Olympic sport coach for performance - most people could care less. Kelley will be evaluated on how their replacement performs, but even more so on firing/hiring decisions on revenue sports.

This was small potatoes so no one other than the track and CC athletes should be too impressed here.

Nobody is saying that this was some huge act of bravery.

Having better facilities should help but its not the end all be all.  More important is attracting the right coaches and athletes.

Look at Baseball - how much better have we been since the new facility was built?  Also basketball has better facilities than previous years but only now is getting good because we finally have the right coach in place.

Tennis is the perfect example for facilities not being the end all.
