Seattle Seahawks fan?

Nope, the combination of the green and yellow lens with the blue border (it could be any dark color actually) gives a golden appearance to all you see. :GoBulls:

To be perfectly honest, for the first time in many years, football will just be a time killer until the BasketBulls hit the hardwood this fall ...

No way for me. Basketball is basketball but football is football.

My USF roots are firmly entrenched in MBB ....

... and the current state of college football, combined with the current state of MBB, makes it a lot easier to embrace those roots.

Upon closer scrutiny, I can see that ....

My first donation was for MBB.  First season tickets were MBB.

I was able to shift to football, never giving up on my first.

I remember the F4 well. Wish there was still something like it instead of the lame tournaments somewhere in South America. I also remember the F4 banners in the old sundome. But I was raised with CFB in South Georgia so it’s in my DNA.  I may rag on them time to time but I love USF football. I have yet to miss a USF game (via radio, tv, iron person) since the program started and always look forward to the season.

I remember that Triple, I was in High School.  That was back in the day when USF Basketball was an actual "Tampa Sporting Thing".  Imagine a time when South Florida and Jacksonville were basically considered in the top 4 basketball programs in the state (at least to be a part of this tournament).

I believe we were the only 4 D1 MBB programs in the state at that time. Miami has shut down their program.

I would think that UCF had a program then, but not sure (too lazy to look) - but they played in that tiny little high school gym.

But both USF and Jack were both in the Sun Belt together, which would have been a step or 2 above any other Div 1 FL college teams at that time.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
