The only way a C win today helps USF/the AAC is by keeping the NY6 bid with the conference. And the reason that helps is because of the conference's tv contract negotiations. Taking the last two NY6 bids and three out of four is a nice bargaining chip to bring to the table. Obviously the more money the AAC brings in the more that trickles down to us.

Of course this all seems moot at this point because Memphis is steamrolling the Gnats right now.

Except the tv contracts have nothing to do with NY6 bowls as they all have their own tv contracts. The bubble on college sports packages is bursting not booming there is not even the slightest chance that ESPN is offering much more for our TV contract because they don’t have to,; how many people are clamoring to watch AAC games that their teams aren’t playing in?

I still don't get this Cent. love-fest logic.

Let the guy you dislike most at work finger your wife.

He didn't **** her but he got close, and somehow thats good for you?

The NY6 bid brings in more money for the conference. Which gets divvied and means more money for USF. It also helps AAC perception. If we're going to be in a turd conference we might as well be in the shiniest one. The AAC got taken to the woodshed in the last round of tv negotiations and by all accounts is set for a hefty bump (even with the current tv landscape.)

Even if it isn't USF it still benefits us (albeiIt on a much smaller scale) for the AAC to keep the NY6 bid in house. It could be Tulsa, ECU, SMU, or Tulane and still have the same impact. Unfortunately it just happens to be the team to the east.

If someone wants to argue that them winning one game one time because we in this one instance could get an extra $500k or so I can somewhat understand that argument although I believe their insane winning streak and constant publicity is costing us far more than $500k. However if anyone thinks they specifically should be winning all of their games every year in order to be a leviathan that strengthens the conference they are insane and cheering for their growth at the expense of our destruction.

This certainly doesn’t feel very good for us, not at all.

None of which grounded in reality. Most people tend to cheer for what they see as positives in their life, that you see no reason to cheer is because it’s not good for us.

Something can be good without being a reason to cheer.
