Thank you. I appreciate your thoughtful insights. Rest assured that everyone within the Lee Roy Selmon Athletic Center was disappointed with today’s performance. We certainly won’t quit and every coach, player, administrator and staffer in our building will be evaluated in full after every season—it is the only way we will get better and it will always be a staple of my administration.

That being said, I sure hope you and your fellow fans reconsider your notion of potentially no-showing our biggest game of the year on Black Friday. We need all of Bulls Nation to rally for that one—both to honor our seniors in their last home game and to defeat our rivals.

Thank you for your loyal support through the years. I hope to see you on November 23 at RJS if not sooner at one of our Women’s Basketball games.

Sincerely,

Michael Kelly
University of South Florida
Vice President of Athletics

I like this guy

Here’s a press conference from when Texas lost to TCU. Hear anything that sounds familiar?

Yeah you could play that clip for about every game this season and it would fit.

So is 16-21 at Texas comparable to what he’s done here? 17-5 playing playing a much lower tier of competition. It looks like any team with a pulse has been able to beat him at both stops.

That word doesn’t have the meaning it used to. Now everyone has multiple rivals. Every opponent is basically a rival, the word has been done in by the participation trophy bunch.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
