Look at C., who they’ve beaten and how long their streak is. They still wont sniff the CFB playoff. So what good does their ranking do them, really? None. ALL that matters is a conference championship for us. We can still (in theory) get to the conference championship. If we do, and win it, then we deserve some recognition in the form of a ranking. Otherwise, we shouldn’t be ranked. It’s really not much more complicated than that. The only area it does matter is relative to other G5 teams in terms of NYD game. But yes you are correct otherwise

Perception for recruiting. Fan pride. There are plenty of intangible benefits to being ranked. Having our sports logo and school name appear in the top 25 list (deserved or not) builds recognition for our University and sports teams, not for everyone in the country, obviously, but for enough to move the needle in our favor. I really don't care if we "deserve" to be ranked. It's better for USF as a whole to be on the list than to not be on the list. Hopefully, by the end of the season we will not only be ranked again, but we will have won the AAC and a NY6 bowl. That will take care of the "deserve" part of the equation for those that care about that part. 1

Like our on-board critics, I'm sure they've already conveniently predicted the rest of the season for us.

The only poll that maters now is presented on Tuesday night.

Houston all the way up to 17th. UCF at 9. Cinci 27th. Beat Tulane next week and we have a outside chance of cracking the coaches poll. Beat Tulane and then Cinci and we're in soundly. Several of them will now have three and four losses. I think Houston ends up ranked and we may get lucky and barely be outside the top 25. We finally got out QUALITY LOSS though.
