This is a team that FIU beat 63 - 24.... and they had their head coach for that one!

Anybody who is in the know about UMass football (I admittedly am) completely expected this type of score. UMass just seems to play up or down to their opponents level but doesnt know how to win football games.  This was the year where quite a few experts actually predicted them to make a bowl game.  Couple that with a road game in a very quaint atmosphere, and you get what you saw yesterday.

I expect a similar headache on Friday

Agreed.  Friday will not be a walk in the park and may go the other way if we don’t cut down on mistakes and play with some fire.

The elephant in the room is how bad our passing game is. Sure O line is not great but neither is the QB play. We are getting similar passing stats to Flowers with a fraction of the run game. We can’t sustain drives or manufacture first downs. Against good teams this will be a problem. One play scored will be less so. Expect us to struggle scoring 20 points a game the rest of the season. Was hoping the bye would show something different but it was more of the same.
