Every game should matter to every player.  But that is not what we are talking about.  Fans and sports writers.  That is what we are talking about.

Yep and we have years and years of empirical evidence that shows that winning against the AAC and UCF isn’t it. We need out at all cost, it can’t be more clear. Like I said I pray to G-d we win the conference championship this year just so we can remove that from the possible cause of our fan ennui. It’s not the stadium because we have sold it out, it’s not the game time because we have packed various times, it’s not winning because we are doing that in droves, to paraphrase Bill Clinton “it’s the conference stupid”.

Florida fans in general have a habit of not attending games and/or not caring about their local teams (except FSU/UF fans which are purely college towns). I still remember how empty the seats were for Heat games even when they had Lebron.

A lot of people from Miami weren't born there and I'm not even referring to the just people from other countries. There are a lot of New Yorkers and people from other states who moved to Miami in the 80s/90s.

“In order for us to get the recognition that we need to get across the country, we have to get it within our own city,” Strong said. “You look at our football team, and everybody sees what we have. And no one ever writes about it, no one ever talks about it. One of these days, I’m going to turn this city - this city’s going to be all about South Florida.”

That's inspirational stuff.  We need way more people like this in general.

How many TV stations are showing the Illini game this week?

One, the Big Ten Network, they own the rights to the game.

The thing that bothers me most about the USF coverage in Tampa, is that every dollar in Tampa has been touched by USF. With that kind of influence on the city, Tampa should be pushing USF like mad!!

Nonsense. I was at that game and it was packed.

Well I only saw on tv, and saw a ton of empty seats. Looked empty to me but I wasn’t there.

I know. Goes a lot for the majority of Florida too. A lot of folks migrate from the NE because they are tired of the taxes and cold. I know a lot of them.

Talked to a Usf that hasn't gone much the past few years we talked about game and he wants to renew his season tickets. So hopefully we can keep growing back our base one at a time.

Agreed.  I went in before halftime and it was clear everyone was already in there and were not leaving lol.

Our next stadium needs an overhang thing to generate shade.  The clouds made a big difference for example.
