In no way am I assuming we will be able to just walk away with it-- but what I am seeing with this team is reminding me of the elements of other teams I have followed in the past that end up in the winners circle.

Yeah== we gotta win those conference games in front of -- the main ones to worry about being UCF and Houston-- and whatever we face should we get past that gauntlet. Whatever else happens is icing on the cake in my mind. I do not need to worry about the playoffs. I just want this stupid thing to be done with and finally win it.

It is like an albatross that hangs over our program. There were years we had legitimate shots at it early on with CUSA. The powers that be held us off from joining in a year when we would have throttled them all (2002). Then as we built back into something-- we changed to a harder conference and had to start all over again. And let's be fair-- the Big East was just impossible for us for whatever reason -- we were snakebit every season with losses that boggled the mind so often.

But I got a feeling-- this might just be the year.

Kansas and Kentucky...

Our defense still needs to step up more. Yesterday was the first shootout we’ve won in I don’t know how many years but I’m hoping that this won’t be a trend (unless we win them all, of course). The two turnovers in the final 8 minutes they created were clutch but GT also had almost 700 yards of offense. That stat doesn’t bother me that much though, considering that’s how their offense is designed. I’m hoping Navy and Memphis can quiet the Gnats before we get to them because that’s 100% a game our D will need to step up on.

I've used up all of my votes for today, but I agree.

Yeah I am a concerned some about the defense but GT is a freak offense we dont see teams like that much so lets see how they do these next few games.
I want to see the defense to improve as the season plays out.

If BB is back next year I think the following year could be huge.

Brother, I’m just taking them one game at a time.  On to Illinois...or as Ron Zook used to say Illinoise
