Why harp on students...just because you enjoy attending football games and it’s a high priority in your life doesn’t mean others do, or should.   BTW, USF student pay heavily for those seats you claim are free.  Despite having to pay, they still chose not to attend.  Do you regularly attend USF School of Theater and Dance shows?

Why should any of the 3 mil people in the Tampa Bay area attend?

Customers are never to blame. Find out what they want to buy and then sell that, if its too hard to teach or convince them that they should buy what you are selling than you are probably selling the wrong thing.

And there's the big problem. We ARE selling the wrong thing, for the every day sports fan in TB, and there's not a **** thing we can do about it ...

Ok I get it “customers are not to blame” but as I tell my students there is a such thing as a “bad customer.” My point here is that the alumni do have some culpability here. Ok, if you don’t like sports that’s cool I get it. But please god almighty don’t be a sports loving USF alumni and spend your $ on UF, FSU, etc. Where is the friggin loyalty to your alma mater? I don’t give two violation if you were brought by your daddy watching UF play. Hell, love them both...there is enough football to do that.

A portion of the alumni have a ton of culpability for the reason you stated about supporting other programs ...

Since Ned has apparently chosen not to respond, can anybody else clarify this? All I can see is a $10 flat fee per semester for Athletics. Are there other, per credit hour, Athletics fees that are not readily identifiable?

I think it maybe the $10 plus $14.46 per credit hour http://usfweb.usf.edu/graduate-studies/tuition-and-fee-calculator/ (select undergrad for the level).

Not many do, so you tell us why they should.

That's definitely a good chunk ..... a shame more don't take advantage of it.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
