Wasn't Chad Dollar dismissed from the USF basketball team during his playing days? I could be wrong, but that's my memory.

You maybe right, Its a little before my time but this is all I can find

1990-91 South Florida Sun Belt 18     0.5 1.4 .346 0.5 1.4 .346 0.0 0.0   0.7 1.1 .632     0.9 1.6 0.4 0.0     1.7   -1.19
1991-92 South Florida Metro 19 1 6.0 0.2 0.6 .250 0.2 0.6 .273 0.0 0.1 .000 0.1 0.2 .500     0.5 0.5 0.1 0.1 0.3 0.5 0.4   3.34
1992-93 South Florida Metro 7

The first number is his games played. Seeing how that dropped from 18-19 to 7, he either got hurt, or was removed.

No, he wasn't removed.  He finished out at USF.

Dollar was a phenomenal recruiter for us. I wish him all the best at Georgia. Time for Gregory to find someone else chomping at the bit to prove their mettle.

I don’t follow our recruiting all that much. Who were his big signees?

Didn't realize he was from the ATL area so not too surprising a move, especially considering SEC money .... what I didn't realize is that Crean was now at UGA.

Quote

"It's (an) unbelievable situation for me, and I think it will be a rewarding experience," Dollar said in the statement.

"I'm looking forward to seeing my family on a regular basis and high school teammates and guys I competed against growing up, and high school and AAU coaches who I know both from when I was playing and my career as a college coach."

That, right, there is the why.

Good luck, Mr. Dollar!
