Same situation here ....... Hope it works out but I just don't know if Willie is up for this. Awfully big jump in a couple of years ...

My best friend is an avid FSU fan and booster. We were discussing this same point today.

I doubt it

According to the WSJ FSU is ranked #20 and Oregon is #21 in terms of the most valuable programs.

Another plus to this move is that FSU should continue to whip up on the Gators.

I wonder if Taggart is still gonna invite Harbaugh to his camps now that they will be going after the same pool of recruits.  He is gonna kill it on the recruiting trail.

There NOTHING that Taggart has accomplished that Sumlin hasn't (except be fired).

Hiring Taggart after one year at Oregon is like hiring Sumlin after his first year at A&M, except Taggart had less wins.

It really just Taggart having potential, he hasn't proven anything yet.

There's nowhere else to go from here for Taggart.  It's time to see what he really can do now that he's at prestige job that can maximize his strengths. There's no more rebuilding and moving up the ladder or leaving a plum job for your "Dream job" back home.   It's time to see if Willie is the real deal or just hype.

He's rebuilt programs and recruited well -has a really good eye for talent. And he's had some good people around him.

But now he's playing with big money and bigger demands. Getting to a bowl is not even close enough.

I'm such a loser, but I love to read forums when a school loses their coach with USF connections.

This one has me in stitches from an Oregon fan.:roflmao:

Absolutely. I think he really loved being at Oregon, I 'm sure if it were any place other than FSU he wouldn't have shown much interest and would have stayed. It was his childhood dream school. I'm disappointed only in how it COULD negatively impact our program but don't begrudge him for his decision. The richest coaching contract in NCAA history facilitated this. No way he could have seen this coming and why he was so torn. The fact there was one special place in his heart, and that place was calling is why it was so difficult for him. That the decision was so difficult says a lot about Oregon.

I think i read this same comment on another board.  Replace Oregon with UCF and FSU with Nebraska.
