This raises an interesting question.  I don't think teams should be penalized for SOS changes due to teams backing out on them.  The CFP should give some credit for that.

I'm not sure this season is typical of the CFP thinking. You have to recall that UCF canceled two games, and USF canceled one. So if you look at WINS only (which it seems the committee is heavily favors wins and who you beat, not who you lose to), then UCF is right behind all of the other 8 and 9 win teams. And USF has 9 wins but also a very very weak schedule. So I can somewhat understand why there are 7 win teams ahead of USF. We haven't defeated a winning team yet, so the committee doesn't think we are likely to beat any of the top 25.

 

Consider his, if no games were canceled and we didn't drop a game to Houston so that USF was 11-0 and UCF was 11-0,    We would both be ranked higher. If we were 10-1 we would probably be ranked higher too. Those canceled games knock down ours and UCFs win total this season. Miami didn't get much respect until they spanked Notre Dame, they were undefeated and still ranked 10, because Miami also had canceled two games. 

 

So yes, there is a P5 bias, however it appears more biased this season in particular because the canceled games reduce the number of wins for USF and UCF.

His point is correct but I am with you...DO YOUR FRIGGIN JOB AND GET US SCHEDULED WITH POWER PROGRAMS.

I'm ok with payday games if it has to be that way. I know many aren't but get the SOS up and if one and done is how it has to be take their money, take the win and deal with it.
