If Taggart had stayed, would we be 8-0?

I don't think anybody we played so far would have been able to keep up with the GCO.  It's hard for me to say yes though without knowing who our defensive coordinator would have been....  I'll say yes but somebody like ECU probably would've been a nail biter if Woody was still the DC.

ECU, UH and Tulane could have possibly been L's with Tags.

Making the following assumptions:

No Mack.

Same defense as last year.

We would probably have figured out a way to lose one of those games. We would have more points on Offense and have given up more points on Defense. I would guess we would still be 7-1.

Taggart is not an offensive genius, he is a recruiting genius and from what I've seen a better gameday motivator than Strong, who has put a flat team out every week except against Temple.

If Taggart recruited Mack to stay maybe.  Last year's offense doesn't work as well without Adams and Mack don't care what the message board universe says. Mack is looking great in the NFL. That's rare talent.  DJ and Tice are good, not great.

There are many teams with good athletes that arent scoring 40 pts per game, and his team in Oregon was scoring on 40pts a game....but yup he is nowhere near an offensive genius.

There's no way to know what our record would be if xCWT were still here.

No, I didn't call him #cash# in the title. Happy? :D

But seriously, do you think things would be different? ---Don't forget that porous defense from last season.

We'd be 12-0 at seasons end.  Bad split for both teams. When you have something going you stick with it. Understand chasing the money though.

This team can't score because the coaching staff has no clue now to use the talent it has. Like I said before what would happen when athlete to athlete the other guys match up. We saw before our eyes what happens.

Basically, find fast guys and run plays that establish their speed, then use them as misdirection for QF, which then opens up the huge passes.

QF hasn't been as good this year with the deep throws. Even the one to MVS was umderthrown

I think so... the irony is that he is likely going to end up at UF... he still would have been their pick if he had stayed one more year, and that job makes sense for him. I was shocked and am still shocked that he took a job cross-country from the fertile recruiting ground that gave him his success.
