Here is a real interesting feature of this message board.  If you see a topic you aren't interested in, you can just not enter that topic.  You are not required to read and enter and opinion on each topic.  Many people don't understand this feature fully.

But it was a completely unnecessary jab that happens every single time there is a soccer thread.

There's another cool thing about message board posting that many don't understand as well.  It's that one does not have to respond to "unnecessary jabs" that occur frequently.  I realize it's a novel idea, but I also realize it's one that some struggle with from early on in childhood through adulthood.  I tell my kids all the time - don't respond when your brother or sister is provoking you - it takes the wind right out of their sails.  They WANT you to respond - that encourages them.  Don't respond.

This is another aspect that is not fully understood, and I suspect will not be by some until the end of time.

You're not really the audience I had in mind.  You tend to have pretty thick skin. ;)

Thank you for introducing me to this fascinating feature.  Here I thought that others should not be rude and crash into conversations just to troll.  And here it was me responding to the trolling that had it all wrong.  Good stuff!  :GoBulls:

You're most welcome.  I'm glad to help.

Another thing I tell my kids is that some people will be rude no matter what, and I tell them if you can't say anything nice back to trolls, don't say anything at all.  I've found that this feature also works well from time to time, too.

If there's anything else I can help with, please don't be afraid to ask.

More than half the post count in this thread is thanks to my trolling. I have single handedly almost made soccer interesting on this message board, you are welcome data.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
