Conference affiliation and not dominating against inferior opponents. To run with the dogs you need to play like the big dogs. If you get a cupcake you are expected to crush, not survive or have a close call.

I get that, but 6 spots?  That doesn't seem likely.

I can see us falling out of the top 25 in one of these polls.

19 and 20.. think we stay the same in AP and move up a spot in coach's poll bec we've won 2 games.. winning matters to coaches and they probably believe Strong can get the offense going.

I really won't be surprised at any poll results today.... unless it's a huge jump.

I think we underestimate that we're 2-0 not just 1-0. I think that makes a difference to some voters.

Really, this team needs to not even know about the polls and figure out what is going on with the offense.

Every year each team starts out as a brand new team.   That is what makes college football so interesting.   Teams that do well don't and others that were not on the radar have a great year.

We had a complete coaching staff change and some players.  Not thrilled but I expected some challenges.  Let's see how the coaches and players handle this.

Matt Baker at TBT has dropped us from his Top 25

The Bulls were tougher, but a 31-17 win over Stony Brook (in a game that was closer than the score suggests) is inexcusable for a ranked team. Here are the other results from teams that were ranked (or received votes) against Division I-AA foes:

I also graded USF harsher because it was their second underwhelming performance. Coaches usually tell you that a team makes the biggest growth between the first game and the second one. If that's USF's growth, then a perfect season seems unreachable.
