Gilbert will test the Huskies run defense...

I remember some of the Big East teams (Rutgers with Ray Rice, Pitt with LeSean McCoy, UConn with Donald Brown, WVU, etc.  Even last year FSU with Cook. When they test the run, they actually had major success with it.  We're testing it and breaking nothing open.  But we keep testing... testing ourselves it seems.

We have no legitimate running back other than Flowers. If D Johnson cant run against lesser competition its not going to change all of a sudden. We need to be a pass first offense a run by diversion. But we wont. We will be lucky avg 30 ponts a game this year.

Another problem...I don't think our offense of line is up to the task. The right side of the line is simply terrible.

since their time at USF, did Coach Strong and the OC ever go back to the videos and watch any of the USF games from the previous seasons?

Game 1, okay, season jitters, etc. They all get a pass.

Game 2... It clearly shows me that they don't know USF football and how QF and the guys operate. They are trying to do whatever they did offensively at Texas (that got them all fired).

:furious3::angrymob::wtf:

If you remember, Taggart tried to initially  install an offense with all kinds of "shifts," which confused the players more than it did our opponents.  Remember the McNeese State fiasco?  Many of these college head coaches are paid millions of dollars.  It seems to me that one of the most important aspects of coaching is to install your offensive and defensive game plans and offenses and defenses based upon the talents of your players.  You can't put round pegs in square holes.

Some coaches only do their system...and alot fail the successful ones adapt to what they have.  Took Taggart awhile but he changed and now look at him.  Mark it down with CJL as the DC they will be in a national championship game in a few years.

I wish they would have retained TJ Weist.

Makes no sense to me that this did not happen. I guess CCS thought he had continuity with Coach King and did not need anyone else.

Coaches underplay early in the season to keep from putting things on film that our opponents could use against us.

wow that is what the UCF folks said when we beat the snot out of them  64-12.  they were saving their plays for conference play and we know how that worked out.

Anyone suggesting this is a coaching group sandbagging are delusional and maladaptive.  This is what below average teams hope is what's going on when losing in the 4th quarter at home to the projected #8 team in the CAA. Maladaptive. Let me ask you- when we lose to a team finally playing as we do, will you then believe or will it take a second loss?  Ask yourself.
