*number to the right is from previous season's ranking.

Well, I guess they think we have the best non-P5 coach out there. That's something, I guess...

37. Charlie Strong, South Florida (34)

...

45. Willie "Ca$h" Taggart, Oregon (75)

...

61. Skip "Bumblebee" Holtz, Louisiana Tech (81)

...

71. Scott Frost ( 94 )

89. Tom Allen, Indiana (NR)

Best P6 coach, too. :)

Cash Taggart, like the sound of that.

I wonder if Charlie Strong regretted leaving Louisville.

I know he wishes the USF job was open before he went to L'ville if you can go by what he says.

He's not the only one.  We totally could have had Teddy Bridgewater if USF had fired Leavitt just a little sooner.

But if it was and he took it, would he have ended up regretting the decision when we didn't get the call to the big leagues ...?

You wonder how his experience with the pressure at Texas would affect a decision to move to a 'name' school.  Would the expectations be worth the extra money?

Him leaving after 1 or 2 years here would make him less desirable by a G5 school if he did not perform well for a P5 and is fired.  I think he will seriously consider putting down roots here, make a decent salary, and not have to deal with the degree of the demands of a "storied" program.

These are nice thoughts but in the end he will take the $. I can't recall a college coach who has turned down $ to stay at a G5 school. Even Tags left behind his family and new home.

There may be more behind him (and some of our other coaches) leaving.  May not totally have been the money.
