Jump balls certainly aren't a problem for USF's towering talents that go up and get it often.. Valdes-Scantling (6-5, 209) and Bronson (6-3, 194) are two of eight big Bull receivers on the roster listed at 6-feet-1 or above. Other huge targets for Flowers include upperclassmen Stanley Clerveaux (6-3, 220), Temi Alaka (6-2, 205), sophomore Darnell Salomon (6-3, 205), redshirt freshman DeVontres Dukes (6-4, 217), along with freshmen Randall St. Felix (6-2, 190) and Kevaughn Dingle (6-1, 185). Size also comes with plenty of playmaking experience for a receiver corps that helped USF's record-breaking 2016 offense rank fourth nationally in scoring (43.8 points per game) and 11th in total offense (511.5 yards per game). Valdes-Scantling (St. Petersburg) tied for the team TD reception lead with five last season and averaged 18.9 yards per catch while starting all 13 games. I still remember that tall white JUCO receiver who was expected to come in and fix things. God, Holtz was terrible.

I don't see how we will be better on offense this year but it will be fun to watch us try. I am old enough to remember when we were a defensive team. Hopefully we will become more balanced. Balance would be nice. I'm in the same boat. While I think our offense will be very good, I cannot believe it will be better, regardless of playmakers. I also think our D will be better, how much is TBD.
