It was great having her on Staff...that was a very prestigious thing.  What about Andrea Jaeger now??  Chris Evert?? Who feels like coaching?

I guarentee if you ask all these up and coming kids who gigi fernandez is, they will look at you funny. Even ask some of the current and former players if they knew who she was before she talked to them, i bet they would have no idea! If she was so great for the program, she would still be coach, what does that tell you?

She is still coaching. She will be a volunteer assistant coach.

Hopefully, USF can get another Coach who had the prestige, passion (for the game), and a genuine affinity for coaching that Gigi brought to USF.  The loss of GIGI goes beyond that of just a coach, as many have already expressed on this board.

Even the most casual fan knows who Gigi Fernandez is. We were very, very lucky to have her here and are still fortunate to have her sticking around to volunteer.

VERY LUCKY...... W should get Randy Moss to Coach WR's after he retires, Ricky Williams to coach RB's, Ryan Leaf for QB's, Nate Neyton for OL, and while were at it Jose Canseco can be our Baseball Coach...... we would be lucky to have the because the causal fan knows who they are

Pretty lame trying to equate 'notariety' and Gigi with people infamous for on and off the field problems.
