  1. ha! he was most likely visiting me at LVO. Oh the memories!
  2. Gload is the starting LF for the Ryoals on opening day
  3. anyone stop to think why he was fired? there has to be a reason. You just don't up and fire a coach who won 20 games and went to the tourney
  4. http://packers.aolsportsblog.com/2007/03/25/usf-already-in-mid-season-form/ USF Already in Mid-Season Form Posted Mar 25th 2007 11:10PM by Charles Rich Filed under: Big East, NCAA FB Campus, NCAA FB Police Blotter The South Florida Bulls only started spring practice a week ago, but once more USF finds players in trouble with the law and suspended from the team. Two University of South Florida starting defensive backs were arrested early this morning outside a Tampa bar on misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and obstructing or opposing an officer without violence and have been suspended indefinitely by USF coach Jim Leavitt. Senior cornerback Mike Jenkins, who turned 22 Thursday, and sophomore strong safety Carlton Williams, 21, were arrested shortly after 3 a.m. by Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies at Bobalouie's Pub, 1913 Bearss Avenue. They were released on $750 bond about 8:30 this morning. Apparently there was a crowd of nearly 200 outside the bar after it had closed around 3 am. Go figure a crowd that large, plenty of people who had been drinking and now without their booze. Naturally a large fight broke out leading to the arrest of Jenkins and Williams. Last off-season, the Bulls had several players arrested and suspended. Not to mention more then a couple academic casualties. Looks like not much has changed.
  5. It's amazing ... nobody shows up to a game, people complain .... people show up to a game, people complain. Just go to the game, have fun and then go on with your life. Root for your team and stop complaing. Nobody is ever going to be satisfied that's just how it is. Collin is right on the money. Baseball is a different sport from football or basketball. Baseball is a slower game that doesn't have as much action as football and basketball. Everything can't be like football. The songs that are played are tradition for baseball. Baseball is my favorite sport and singing take me out the the ball game never gets old. Just be happy that they played the "bull" for you and took your suggestion. From what I saw, it got people pumped up throwing the bull horns in the air. Be happy that there are people out there that care about this university and take peoples opinions into account. But just go out there and root for your team. The students were down the 3rd base side having a BBQ and leading cheers for everyone around them. Even though we lost, the thing they asked most is when can we do this again. Students are going to come out and watch the guys out there and support them.
  6. he's a good kid, smart also ... my brother is his science teacher right now at west boca. The coach there, Willie Dodardo, is a good coach, really cares about the kids there. he's the same HS coach as James Pinkney, ECU's QB Said he's excited to be going to USF and can't wait to get here
  7. I agree with what everyone says about Women's Basketball. Yes, it's a very hard sell because women's sports aren't as mainstream as the men are. Personally, i feel there needs to be more promotions for game beside wear your USF gear. Toss some money out there and have things like a discounted beer night or a Jose Fernandez bobble head night. I know that if you get people to show up for things like that, they stay for the game and get hooked. I think it's the only way to get people interested. You pretty much have to bribe people to go. It doesn't horrible to do something like that but what else is there? Who wouldn't want a Jose Fernandez bobble head?? Everyone doesn't have to go to ALL the games, but you can just check out the schedule and attend as much as you can. Everyone knows that people have a lot going on in their life. I agree with Lau in the article, students need to come out to more games, but USF needs to give them more of a reson to make it out there. I'm out there as much as I can and i will be until the day i move away from Tampa. You gotta spend money to make money right? Poney up for some USF towels to give away. People love that crap. Those girls work hard and they deserve to be supported. I know everyone on this board would make it out there but people on this board aren't the problem. It's everyone else not on the board that needs to get out there and boast attendence. If you attend anymore WBB games, i challenge everyone to bring a friend or 5 and report back and tell us about their experience at the game. IF they liked it, didn't like it and why. Lets see what other people have to say about this situation. I am upset i won't be at either of the games this weekend, but i'll be with family in Orlando so hold it down for me and GO BULLS! Rat
  8. yea, there was no sign of usf anywhere, even in the crowd. All i heard were seminole chops and cator chomps. Even the pirates were throwing blue and orange beads and yelling go gators. Kind of dissapointed in this whole thing. No sign of USF anywhere involved. And i was aware of everything going around cause i was very sober. What are your thoughts?
  9. My Pizza bowl memory was being able to watch it with my parents and brother who is an alum and my most cherished piece of memerobilia is a Kawika Mitchell game jersey
  10. yes they might be overrated when evaluating talent ... but as far as name recognition, the more we climb those rankings the better off we are so we shouldn't be complaining. I'll take a team full of 2 star selvie's and 3 star grothe's anyday! Just like in the replacements, we need HEART and those kids have it! "Pain heels, chicks dig scars, glory last forever!" <sorry i was watching the movie and i was inspired!> Rat
  11. who cares who wins, this has been a great game! I love college basketball!
