David Collins to South Florida

 

David Collins, the 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Pittsburgh (PA) First Love Academy, committed to South Florida on Tuesday.

 

Collins also considered Akron and Duquesne.

 

“David can score on all three levels,” First Love coach Khayree Wilson said. “He’s also very unselfish and knows what it takes to win. He is a very hardworking kid who will not settle for anything outta his self but greatness. He has the ability to be a pro as long as he continues to push himself and not settle. It was a pleasure coaching him and I’m excited about the journey.”

 

Collins joins small forward Justin Brown and center Alexis Yetna in new coach Brian Gregory’s first recruiting class.

Looks like the LOI paperwork is sitting in front of him.  Do we know if he actually signed?

What CBG has accomplished in his first 40 or so days on the job is nothing short of amazing. He and his staff deserve national recognition for being able to land the players that they have while the program is under NCAA investigation and just about the entire roster transferred out. I am genuinely excited to see USF men's hoops transform over the next 2 to 3 years.

David Collins smiles just a little when he dunked over some big guy and the the whole game just stopped. Players, coaches, and fans went nuts over the play. Watch from the 2:50 mark to the end. Big Dude said, "I didn't know he had that!" Talking about how Collins went up and over him. Crazy stuff!
