We can have donations for seats go direct to a capital project. When I make my season football tickets donation, it goes to the IPF. We need to donate to help our programs grow, not as a reward. If all Bull's fans sent half their net worth like F2B we could have that OCS built in no time.

Title IX prevents this. if we have a Men's hoops team we are legally obligated to maintain the epic money pit that is Women's hoops. no disrespect to our ladies' hoops squad, they are a very solid team... But WBB just doesn't generate revenue at any level. even the NBA maintains the WNBA at a loss & they aren't even legally required to do so. Good talk. an oversimplification? sure. 100% wrong? nah. institutions receiving public funds aren't required to maintain "mirror image" athletic teams, compliance is dependent on relative interest & proportional participation in a given sport & compared in the aggregate (total men's sports vs. total women's sports). since women obviously have an interest in playing basketball, universities are obligated to maintain women's basketball programs unless expenditures & scholarships for men's sports are otherwise proportionally equivalent to or less than expenditures & scholarships for women's sports. .......or maybe the "cash strapped" USF athletics department takes a $2M annual hit on women's basketball out of the goodness of their heart, or as a radical protest of the oppressive social patriarchy. LOL. rhetorical question (we both already know the answer): what would happen if USF (or ANY university receiving public funds) cut their women's hoops team? nice chat.
