Charlie Strong with Larry Scott and Telly Lockette as assistants.

I would love this idea, but why would they want to come here as assistants? They both have P5 jobs and they are both offensive guys which we don't really need

Surprised that Les Miles is getting little to no mention by anyone.

He's being mentioned for Houston. I would love Les Miles. Given how his tenure ended, I think he understands he needs an offense as well as a defense to win. He was an awesome defensive coach and with our offense...yikes

I think Strong is a better option, but Les is also a solid option IMO.

For recruiting Strong might be better, but he still scares me as a HC. He had success with Lou, but he also had an NFL starting QB

Everyone(media) seem to love Strong bc they just think he's a good human but I'll never forget how lost he looked when he was getting outcoached by George freaking O'leary when he had Teddy Bridgewater as QB.

Then he goes to the Program with more resources, perfect city in Austin and completely bombs as a Head Coach

Would be a good hire but he'did be gone in 2-3 yrs.

He would be almost 60 years old at that point.  I'm not sure the big schools would still go after him after the Texas scenario.  It would probably have to be a school deep in the SouthEast, which would limit the possibilities of him jumping.  IMO, he'd be least likely off all the candidates listed to jump ship.
