That was my first thought.  I can't imagine it's for playing time, as he got a fair amount as a freshman, especially on ST.  I was hopeful he'd replace Sanchez after he graduates, but I'll hold out hope for Danny Thomas or another emergent talent.

Cherry said he left USF for some of the same reasons he left Texas. He said some told him one thing, did another in regards to playing time

 

Not sure this kid is going to make it far with that attitude. I'm sure NO ONE told him he'd be a starter, and if was a beast, he'd be playing more. But...it's his right to leave. He'll have 2 years to play somewhere after a JUCO year.

Dude is built like a tank in the shoulderz and I hate to see him go but I think Nico Sawtelle will take over mlb.  Sanchez has said he will be a factor and has more length than cherry.  I think WLB will be a great competition.
