No taking away the fact that CT has done a great job of turning this thing around, but we've played two teams that would be considered better than average,  and we have two losses. That was really our third consecutive underwhelming game IMO (ECU and UConn were hanging around in the 4th quarter)

This game didn't feel like a fluke to me. Our defense has more or less been this way all year, and I don't see it being much different if we were to get a rematch next week. We simply aren't physical enough, and don't tackle well enough to consistently beat a team like the one we faced tonight. Navy's offense vs. our D has the potential to look like a Globetrotters game. We'll have to be lights out on offense from here on out, because our defensive issues obviously aren't going away anytime soon. Navy, @Memphis, and UCF still to come. If I'm them, I'm running that off-tackle play a minimum of 30 times.

Have to give it to them, they mostly did a good job of containing Flowers. He threw effectively tonight, but I don't recall seeing him have no room to run as often as he did tonight. Alot of football still to be played, but the schedule suddenly looks a whole lot tougher than it did yesterday.

Wrong thread.  There is a thread talking about conspiracies and why we should be in the top 25 right now.

Yeah but Temple had a good defense best in AAC I think.

Plus Temple is a power run team which is our weakness.

Navy is a loss but after that who knows

Likely an 8-4 team now that there is plenty of film on how to beat this team.

Stack the box to stop the run and jam the wide receivers at the line of scrimmage. We do not use our TE and the middle of the field like we should. 95% of our plays are to the sideline

A rude awakening for Kean as well. I must admit, I thought magic was about to happen when I saw him in there. That couldn't have gone worse. Extremely tough spot to enter a game cold off the bench though.

It was Deja Vu, just like when CWT threw Bench into hopeless situations. Same attempt to force something that wasn't there because basically we had to make something happen, same getting hit due to no protection.

Definitely not a fluke.  Temple outplayed us.  Kean had no chance with the circumstances in which he entered the game.  D is soft, plain and simple.

I still think he will be a much better passer than QF. Teams realize now QF is a running back dressed up as a qb. He's an amazing athlete, but teams do not respect his passing ability. If you stack the box against him and jam the receivers to stop the screen...you'll be successful against QF. He needs to work on using the middle of the field better.

Not overrated by anyone but us.

I think we were just simply outcoached. Bad gameplan on defense. Their DC outcoached Taggart. Put a spy on him and contained him. Their DBs contained our receivers for the most part with great coverage.

In defense, Walker has been prone to throw INTs. We should have really stacked the box and put constant pressure and forced Walker to beat us in the air. Instead we made no adjustments and just sat back relying on our athleticism. It doesn't work against power teams.

See how a good DC applied massive pressure to a young, untested QB. We just let Walker set up most of the night when he needed to make a throw.

Most of this was on coaching. Mostly d side of the ball.

It's not like Flowers has set the bar that high.
