Bowl game is the only one way he is certain to keep his job. Period.

Also, you guys talking extensions are crazy. Way too soon. IF he makes a bowl game this year, you go through next year and if we are competing for the conference title then you sign him before his last year.

I concur, one winning season in three does not make for contract extension...  although, CSH did get one...

One winning season, should get at least a one year extension.

But how does that help?  It is like living pay check to pay check.  The negative recruiting would point out the CWT lives on borrowed time.

It is not way too soon.  Let me explain why, once again.  First off, He doesn't DESERVE an extension at this point.  We all agree on that point.  But that is irrelevant.  You never wait until the last year to extend a coach, because it can severely affect recruiting.  Severely.  You either A)  Fire a coach, or B.  Extend a coach's contract.  You never let them play out a contract.  That's just not done.  Every coach in America will be using it against USF in recruiting.  If you really want to see recruiting suffer, then do nothing.  If you feel you need to move on, then fire him and move on.  If Taggart has a decent year and is brought back, he will be offered an extension at some point next spring/summer.  Guaranteed.

Also rushing the field on the Temple game.

Rushing the field for a win over Temple, my home the world has turned upside down.

we don't want Miami to steal Coach Taggert, he'd bring back Da U.

If #USF stays hot, wonder if #Canes would consider Willie Taggart ..rough stint in Tampa, but still think he has high ceiling as HC

just going to leave this here

Guys are you forgetting Taggart has two years left on his deal? Add a year and he's still here two more years. Add another and he's got essentially a full recruiting and development cycle. I'm not opposed to a two year extension but I feel he needs eight wins including a bowl win to get there.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
