Offensive Progress

Just taking a quick glance at things from last year to this year:  

2014 Offense TD's = 22 (through 12 games)

2015 Offense TD's = 19 (through 5 games)

 

Even more telling is the run game.  While I think our difficulties passing last year overshadowed it some, our running numbers were not very good at all last year: 

2014 Rushing Offense: 1295 Rush Yards, 11 TD's (12 games)

2015 Rushing Offense: 1124 Rush Yards, 10 TD's (5 games)

We'll likely exceed the rush production from all of last year in just 6 games this year.  I knew we were bad last year, but now seeing the numbers that an average at best offense is putting up this year in comparison, we were just mind-boggling bad last year.

It doesn't need to be the best passing offense in the world, just enough to keep the defense honest.  We can clearly run the ball when there aren't ten defenders in the box.

This...we just need to make defense respect the passing game enough, we don't need 350 passing yards a game to win vs these teams.

And the threat of a little trickeration has to help keep the defense from keying on the run.

The offense is measurably better and so is the defense.  We are a better team this year.  Hopefully it is reflected in wins and losses.

Exactly.  And it helps to have tall receivers so that QF can see them.
