He got a full release, no restrictions, draw your own conclusions, or read a Gator Board. He would not have played IMO at  USF or UCF.

A Gator co-worker (read:  sports junkie) said Lane was getting beaten out by 2 incoming freshman, and was already behind Kelvin Taylor.  Apparently he realized his playing time would be limited.

 

Apparently his play was sometimes solid, but too often, streaky.

 

Not sure if he has family in EKU, but guessing that lets him play immediately & then head to his choice of 4 D-1 in 2016 (his choice...assuming teams chase him).

Things may have gotten a bit messy if he had joined the RB fold, but it would have been ripe with storylines.
