Never thought the mall was the right place for a stadium, but am surprised they found investors and anchor stores.  I am confused by what they mean on destruction of the common area and creating a new "lifestyle" area.  If they move towards a more outdoor mall situation, it might stand a chance.  Keeping it an indoor mall just seems like you'll still have the same problems that currently plague it.  

 

They're basically ripping the roof off the hallways and making it like Wiregrass or Lakeland or Winter Park, so yes, will be a nicer look.

 

Lifestyle area is just the new buzzword, just means with health club/gym and movie theater among restaurants, it won't just be wall to wall with retail.

just curious as to the types of "anchors" they are going to have. This article says one anchor would be on the first floor and the other two anchors would be on the second floor.

 

The anchors will probably be a Starbucks, a Starbucks, and an Apple store.  Zzz

Anchor #1 clearly appears to be the size and shape of a stadium.  Pretty nifty that they tied it to a mall to appeal to a larger audience.

Starbucks left the mall in 2009.  I recall seeing that the redevelopment company was trying to lure a "big-box" store like Sam's or Costco

I worked at that JCP in 88 when I was in school. The mall wasn't too bad then.
