  1. Leipold having success at 2 FBS rebuilds now makes me think there's probably a few other D2 and D3 coaches that are way better than some FBS candidates at actually knowing how to put guys in the right position to succeed, but they don't have the connections to start out on an FBS coaching staff. I could be wrong, but the coach of West Florida's wiki bio makes me think he would be better than Scott at least. Has coached 2 teams starting programs and each time broke the record for fastest D2 team to make the playoffs so he knows how to build from the ground up quickly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Shinnick
  2. 6 quarters in a row of solid play from this team. Gotta win a game as an underdog and now is a great chance. 2021 Nebraska lost by 1 score to Oklahoma, MSU, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa. But we all saw those moral victories don't equate to a turn around. Winning some ball games will though!
  3. they're letting up 200 yards rushing on over 5 yards per carry through 3 games. If just stacking the box was an option to stop the run I don't think that would still be happening by game 3.
  4. This guy is the VP of college awards, #7 freshman in the country ain't too shabby. Hopefully our NIL program is good enough to keep these guys from transferring up
  5. Could actually compete too. USF in a conference with schools like Pitt, Syracuse, Louisville, GT, Virginia, etc is honestly perfect, especially if we throw in an OOC rivalry week with Big 12 UCF. The perfect balance of opponents where we can be successful, yet the brands are still big enough to be relevant. The past few years have made me realize how much I DONT want to be a Vanderbilt in a super conference. Would rather average 8-9 wins in a B level conference than 2-4 wins in a A level conference.
  6. There's already a pedestrian bridge over to campus from there too. Would change the feeling of the University almost as much as the stadium to have a walking distance place for students to go out too
  7. So reading that article and this one it seems like the timeline has been: Plans were made to move Mosi to waterstreet and look for a design firm to head on a project of redeveloping the 74 acres acres of land. But due to covid the county canceled that as there was some economic uncertainty. They were looking for "an urban, mixed-use hub for cutting-edge companies, sustainable living and community advancement." But after covid they didn't know what the community would need, why build a bunch of office space if everyone is working remote. 5 months ago Mosi hired a new CEO/President and got the county to lend them $250,000 as they finished the previous fiscal year with a $925,000 deficit. The county has warned them this is the last bailout they'll get until Mosi could produce a self-sustaining business model. Out of 5 buildings only 3 are occupied, leaving 364,000 square feet of space unoccupied since their downsizing. So it seems like one of 2 things will happen: 1.) This new guy is able to turn Mosi into a profitable business and they continue to operate, but what happens to the rest of the property now that they've downsized? 2.) Mosi continues to fail, i'd put my money on this. Even before covid I'd be shocked if they we're turning a profit. The original redevelopment plans we're before we announced an On Campus Stadium. Assuming Mosi fails, I wonder if that would change the type of proposals the land would get?
  8. Hopefully he gets a bigger crowd than he did for his senior night.
  9. Throwing a pick 6 just before half to go down 14 in that environment too, would have been very easy to fold. Really hope Jeff Scott is the guy because everything off the field and culture related seems amazing, just needs to start winning.
  10. Glad it seems the players have the feeling of disappointment after the Gators game and not a "happy to be here" kind of moral victory outlook.
  11. Louisville transfer WR Dee Wiggins out for the season. Had 2 catches for 41 yards in Louisville's first 3 drives against FSU before exiting.
  12. This one was the play before the interception at the end of the game that let the Gators take the lead. I get the pass might be a foot off from perfect but with no defenders around you have to catch that. With that catch we likely win up 4 with 5 minutes left on their side of the field
  13. Sounds like Jimmy Horn didn't practice for the UF game till Friday, should be a bigger part of the gameplan this week. Ajou Ajou out and Brian Norris out of the season. Should expect Christian Williams back
  14. Interesting, do like the MLK plaza. MSC lawn where they do bullmarket is probably too small. Castor beach, have the stage floating in the pond. All the students can be on the beach and in the surrounding areas. Big lawn out front of Beta hall will have stadium/IPF backdrop Will tailgaters be allowed on the football and soccer practice field areas? If so those could work
  15. Will be a lot easier to answer when we see full renderings of the stadium and the surrounding area. Based on the master plan the area by all those trees and pond just north of the stadium could be cool. Assuming there will be a lot of tailgaters around there and the new stadium could be within the sightline
  16. our passing offense is 128th, their defense 51st their passing offense is 90th, our passing defense is 11th in terms of EPA: Expected Points Added (EPA) uses Expected Points to measure the outcome of a play. It takes the EP value from the beginning of a play (e.g. 2nd and 5 at the 50) and subtracts it from the EP value resulting from the play (e.g. rush for 10 yards results in 1st and 10 from the 40).
  17. We have the #1 run game according to this guy and they have the #120 run defense. Also looks like our pass defense is pretty solid too. May just come down to not letting Cunningham destroy us scrambling and on 3rd down
  18. Sounds like the Gators may have just had a great secondary? Hope to see our pass game show some improvement moving on
  19. In the comments he mentioned it's something we'll see next week. Not sure if what he's talking about is stadium related. But a week from today will be 3 weeks from the BOT meeting where they mentioned they'll be back in 2/3 weeks to get BOT approval on the design firm. So it does seem likely that could happen next week.
  20. This is the thing. If last week is truly an indicator of how good we are EVERY game left on our schedule is winnable I don't think Louisville, Cincy, Houston, UCF, SMU, etc are any tougher than the Gators in the swamp at night
  21. I think the Gator's player is referring to himself. Lots of their fans have been giving him a hard time about just being big and not worth a roster spot. Glad Battie is using it as bulletin board material though
  22. Louisville's defense has been starting VERY slow so far this season. We NEED to come out and set the tone with a couple of touchdown drives early. To be leading at the end of the 1st quarter on the road vs a P5 team 2 weeks in a row would be huge for this teams confidence. Syracuse drive 1: 11 plays, 62 yards, and a field goal Syracuse drive 2: 5 plays, 87 yards, and a touchdown Syracuse drive 3: 12 plays, 75 yards, and a touchdown UCF drive 1: 10 plays, 80 yards, and a touchdown UCF drive 2: 4 plays, 24 yards, and a punt UCF drive 3: 8 plays, 77 yards, and a touchdown FSU drive 1: 5 plays, 61 yards, and a touchdown FSU drive 2: 9 plays, 60 yards, and a missed 37 yard field goal FSU drive 3: 3 plays, 75 yards, and a touchdown
