  1. Hell yeah. After that Gators game piquing some interest, if we beat Louisville then get a conference opener night game we may actually have some decent attendance
  2. they are letting up over 200 rush yards per game. We need to dominate TOP
  3. that might be it, would explain the sudden usage of Bohanon and Battie. Can't wait to see how they unleash Horn when he's healthy..
  4. Thoughts: The Gerry designed runs I think make a big impact. He's so good at them on a lot of those read options the defenders would crash on Gerry and leave a huge hole for the RB. Then when they throw in a receiver running like it'll be a jet sweep...can't wait to see this run game vs louisville The pick 6 was telegraphed, Gerry has to see that defender and move on to the next option. Also the interception at the end...just throw it away, back foot overthrow is terrible terrible terrible. Hope they can coach both these mistakes out of him Great job from Shoop. 7 points on a pick 6, 7 more on a 25 yard drive after another turnover. The defense really only allowing 17 points to a ranked SEC team on the road...hopefully we can keep it up next week.
  5. Blake Green had retweeted it. And then tweeted out this the next week Then tweeted this after the Gators game Kegler just retweeted his own tweet after the Gators game too: Reading between the lines it seems like the players may have known Brian Battie was a gamebreaker and the coaches were playing favorites and that kept him off the field? Or maybe just in general the staff coached like they actually trusted the players on this team this last week
  6. Contain Cunningham and make him beat us with his arm. Run, run, run on offense. Don't turn it over. In both their losses they turned it over 3 times. They're averaging 10 penalties a game. We just need to stay disciplined on defense and force them to stop the run on offense. They've allowed 190+ yards rushing every game and Battie is averaging 10 yards a carry right now.
  7. people don't think they're good because we whipped them and we suck, so them not being good is the easiest explanation It was @ the swamp shortly after they just beat current #13 there. Their loss was a 1 score game until the last minute vs current #8 in the country.
  8. We do have new coordinators on both sides of the ball and a QB that wasn't there all spring while they were installing the playbook. Would make sense that it might take a couple weeks for them to figure our what works and what doesn't and who they can trust to execute what. Haven't been excited for a game like this Louisville game in a while. Can't wait to see if the improvement is real
  9. They can miss the mark a lot, but the daily stampede is spot on for the expectations for this game: Compete in the first quarter. If we can be down 14-7 when the second quarter starts, then be down around 24-10 at halftime I'll be happy regardless of how the second half goes. Compete for 20 minutes then the other teams depth and talent takes over to make it a blowout is fine and shows the underdog has something brewing, they just aren't on the same level. Going down 30-0 20 minutes in, then getting a few scores in garbage time is not the same even if the final score is.
  10. As far as retreads go Tom Herman may be the best option. Houston 3 years before Herman: 5-7, 8-5, 8-5 Houston with Herman: 13-1, 9-3 (6-0 vs ranked opponents, 3-0 vs top 10 opponents) Texas 3 years before Herman: 6-7, 5-7, 5-7 Texas with Herman: 7-6, 10-4, 8-5, 7-3 (finished ranked last 3 seasons, 8-6 vs ranked opponents in those 3 seasons) Never has had a season that wasn't better than the situation he took over. Has proven he can beat good competition at multiple stops. 5-1 in bowl games. Was Ohio State's OC when they averaged 48 PPG through the Big 10 championship, playoffs, and natty with a 3rd string QB.
  11. https://www.gousfbullsmp.com/indoor-performance-facility Not sure if this has been posted but there is a slide show of renderings here now that look like a pretty accurate expectation for the final product at this point
  12. If those are the 4 stadiums they're drawing inspiration from I'm optimistic this'll look legit. Sounds like we might not see renders for a while though if we won't have a project cost until next June
  13. Think our only chance is a game like the Houston one last year. Whether we get those touchdowns from special teams or defense we need something to help us keep pace in a shoot out
  14. Saw Shoops goal is to start out the game forcing a 3 and out on the Gators first drive. Holding the Gators to 10 or less points in the first quarter would feel like progress
  15. coach strikes a player to hype up team? surprised he wasn't fired
  16. Shawn Clark is an App State alum so doubt he leaves them for us. If we have a chance at Urban Meyer i say go for it. Only option that would be a slam dunk in terms of immediate wins on the field. If he's gone in 2 years to a bigger job at least he's leaving us in a good spot. He took over a 2 win Bowling Green and won 8 games the next year. Took over a 5 win Utah and won 10 games the next year.
  17. Real wild card here...Jimbo Fisher Has a huge contract but A&M fans are starting to turn on him. Houston got Dana Holgerson from WVU in part because he plateaued and the school said go for it when another opportunity popped up for him. If Jimbo's buyout is $90 million we could let A&M know they only need to raise 65 of that because we'll throw him a 5 year 25 million dollar deal to offset the rest of the buyout.
  18. If Deion can recruit guys to Jackson State that wanna play in the NFL he can recruit guys to a school with a brand new 300 million dollar stadium. Don't see a universe he complains about that either. The exposure that makes stars happens on TV. Everything in person is about atmosphere, which is dead with 25k fans in a 70k stadium.
  19. Lance Leipold is finding early success at Kansas. His resume included turning around a Buffalo program in bad shape to be legit. Maybe targeting someone who has proof of concept for turning around a program from rock bottom? Jeff Traylor has done amazing at UTSA, would take 5 million a year to get him to make the move to another G5 school though. Clay Helton took 3-9 triple option Georgia Southern, installed the air raid in one offseason, now is 2-0 with a win over Nebraska I think our pitch would have to include no buyout for the FSU job
  20. I'm sure whichever school Deion moves on to is getting all of Jackson State's blue chip talent to transfer with him too
  21. He's going on Fowler Ave with Grothe to talk tonight. Sure someone will ask him
  22. would have been risky then but yeah there's a chance jobs bigger than us go after him this year Selling points could be we are close to where he grew up (lived in fort myers until he went to FSU) and recruiting here would build the same relationships he'd take with him to FSU if they ever came calling. Plus the new IPF and stadium on the way
  23. Pretty sure Battie is USF's all time leader in yards per carry on guys with 100+ carries at 6.8 Mack had 6.2 and Andre Hall had 5.7 Giving him more carries seems like a no brainer!
  24. football wise he knocks it out of the park...his off the field issues show some cause for concern https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Lebby#Role_during_2015_Baylor_football_scandal
