  1. 2-18 from three, 1-6 from Tyler Harris. Keeping an eye on him. Has shot over 34% on three on 676 attempts in college. If he suddenly forgets how to shoot from range here I'm going to be convinced this isn't just a coincidence. Happens way too often.
  2. Maryland is averaging 31,919 over 5 games at an on campus stadium for a 6-2 Big 10 team. USF is averaging 30,376 over 3 games at a stadium 30 minutes from campus for a 1-6 G5 team. If we can just be a consistent bowl team I'm confident we will sellout more than we don't at the on campus stadium.
  3. These last 2 games are probably the best we've looked in Scotts tenure. 2 games in a row where we looked just as good as a ranked team. 2 weeks to prepare for a beatable Houston team that will be coming off a triple option game. If Gerry is healthy and we get some defenders back I think we can do it.
  4. Their dcoordinator is getting a G5 head coaching job or SEC DC job soon. Wouldn't hate him Travis Williams (linebacker) - Wikipedia
  5. Scott Cochran was Saban's S&C coach his entire time at Bama until 2019 and at LSU before that. At games he'd be on the sideline running around keeping guys hyped up. On all the pregame/hype videos on the jumbo-tron he was the voice narrating. That bolded part is my dream capacity to bring Leavitt back in. He's too old to have all the head coaching responsibilities, but the passion he has for football would be such an asset to the mindset of everyone on the sideline. And him hyping up the fans on the jumbotron would give goosebumps
  6. thats interesting to look through. Some USF player valuations: https://www.on3.com/nil/rankings/player/nil-100/?team-key=21323 If these are really what other schools are paying idk how we keep up. Think its way off though, not sure how Logan Berryhill is worth more than Jimmy Horn
  7. Would love for Fowler Ave to release some #'s on how many people signed up and how much has been paid to players so far. Don't feel comfortable giving more than $10 a month without more details
  8. The morale victory games are certainly better, but still wildly inconsistent. Actually felt like we could beat Cincy and UF. Last year people we're excited after Houston, BYU, and Cincy but it never really felt like we could win it in the 4th quarter. We have come out flat in games with flat atmospheres. The only 2 sellout games are the ones where we looked good. Wouldn't be out of the question for a packed house to really motivate the players, not an excuse but certainly pumps up the adrenaline.
  9. with a 12 team playoff being in a G5 conference isn't the worst thing, better chance at running the table
  10. This is so pathetic it actually made me laugh out loud. Your team got good and you realized that didn't fix any of the problems in your life so you're hoping to make other people miserable along with you? Go outside
  11. Could see that, or Chaplin starting over Selton Miguel. Losing the 2 leading scorers and bringing in all these transfers might cause a slow start but I think the overall depth is better this year. Will need an unexpected returner like DJ Patrick or Serrell Smith to step up if we're going to be anything better than middling
  12. The 2 games where he's had the least involvement are the 2 where we looked the best. Coincidence? Most likely Just hope we're not trying to force him the ball in other games even when its to the detriment of the team just to keep him happy
  13. At least then I'd feel like were close and maybe just need some more depth. Only playing well in garbage time feels like we aren't playing any better, the other team just takes their foot off the gas
  14. It'll build tradition and elevate the campus atmosphere for students, putting the commuter school reputation in the past. I know people who didn't even bother applying to USF because they didn't have an on campus stadium. To some students in the south having a fun football gameday experience is 100% a factor in where they go. I'd like to see numbers on what percentage of students now go their entire USF careers without ever attending a game. There is no doubt that goes down when they can stroll from their dorms drunk with their friends to a game. In turn, more students will eventually become season ticket holders
  15. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sports-related_curses It's not uncommon for down-trodden fanbases to blame a curse on their lack of success. In the 5 years leading up to 2011/2012 USF was on fire. The football team was consistently ranked and beating big programs. The basketball team while not great still won 20 games twice in a loaded big east, won 2 NCAA tourney games, and had a 1st round pick. Since then USF has been irrelevant in the sports that matter. Outside of the Quinton Flowers years we have been downright embarrassing. Even in those years, how do you have a transcendent QB surrounded by NFL talent for 3 years in a G5 conference and your best win might be the Birmingham bowl against a .500 P5 team? Three ideas and how we'd solve each: Falling out with Jim Leavitt - lot of people point to this as the beginning of the end, the program lost its fiery leader and their identity along with it. To solve this we need to mend that relationship. Name the field at the OCS after him, put him in a ring of honor, etc. Something to pay tribute to the man who gave us these expectations in the first place. Judy Genshaft blocking UCF to the Big East - UCF fans love to bring this up. Would think if this cursed us UCF being in a P5 conference next season and us not being in one would free us from this curse. The Daily Stampede blog starting - wasn't this around 10-12 years ago at that same time? The blog has some takes that are polarizing to the fanbase. Doubt this is it, but maybe they should not post anything for an entire week before a non-Temple FBS opponent just to check...
  16. I think what was just a big as anything with the change from 2016 -> 2017 with Flowers and the offense as a whole was losing Marlon Mack and Rodney Adams. Thats 2500 yards from scrimmage, 25 touchdowns, and gamebreaking speed at 2 positions gone from the offense
  17. oh I agree with you, I was trying to point out how nepotism may have been involved in him rising to the point of getting this job in the first place
  18. Jeff Scott "played" at Clemson under Terry Bowden. Brad Scott was an assistant under Bobby Bowden. May have been a who you know to get in college football in the first place. Then gets a foot in the door at his alma mater under their most successful coach ever and gets promoted to OC and has Deshaun Watson/Trevor Lawrence to work with. Maybe he's just never faced adversity and now is lost on how to handle it.
  19. Could be a great QB coach. He certainly knows what it takes to adjust and improve at this level, not like he came in a finished product

  22. How would people feel if we got Dan Mullen? Up until the Gators "collapse" (6-6) in 2021 he was on an absolute tear of success. Does 1 bad year define a coach? Last 17 years in the SEC means he has experience recruiting down south too. -QB coach for Alex Smith at Utah -OC and QB coach for 2 years of Chris Leak and 2 years of Tebow at UF -Took over a Mississippi State team that had over 4 wins only once in the 8 years before he took over. 5 wins the first year then 8 straight bowl games in the toughest division in football. -Took over a Gators team that finished ranked twice in the previous 5 years, with 14th being their best finish. Had 3 of the 4 best Gator seasons since Urban Meyer, finishing top 13 3 times.
  23. So on September 6th they said in 2-3 weeks they were coming back to the BOT for final approval for the design firm for the stadium. Its been a month now, whats the hold up?
  24. betting against USF this weekend seems like easy money
