The USA Today article and about a million threads on this board have me wondering about attendance.

I have been going to the games is the first season and I have done some soul searching about what ERA's have been most exciting over the years.

If I am being honest with myself, as much as I liked winning 11 games last year, I felt let down by the defense.  We have traditionally been a defensive team and I always enjoyed that.

I liked scoring at will last year but it was like a sugar high that quickly wore off as soon as the other team took the field.  I did not enjoy the games as much as in years past.  Maybe it is the competition but I didn't care about that when we were AA or CUSA.  So it got me thinking what was with my lack of enthusiasm (don't get me wrong - I loved a lot about last season).

I am wondering if other fans might feel the same way.  It has been hard getting excited about the team since Holtz cratered the program and maybe I am still recovering from that or maybe it is the style of play.  Could it be that winners of most games are nearly predetermined before the kick off?

I am hoping that Strong can revive the defense again (like he is doing) while Gilbert continues to move the ball.

Its the bi-week and I was wondering what others thought.

I try to live in the now, so the previous ones mean very little to me.

Big East era. Better competition, bigger crowds. CWT era was definitely fun, and I like what I'm seeing out of this year's team, but the empty stadium and garbage schedule give it a small-time feel. This team deserves better than that.

I like this Era because we battled back to be a good team again after the Holtz fiasco.  Now this time we just gotta continue to build on it.. These current batch of recruits did an amazing job,  From 2 wins to now.  This incoming class is very important as is our biggest class and we need to continue moving forward.  All we need now is a few signature wins to get it sparked up again.

Well I guess there was the ND game and beating Clemson.  Then...  Losing to Syracuse, a no scoring affair with Miami, and other painful things.

i said it at the time, I was uneasy after that ND win.  It felt like a lot of luck to me.

How does Skippy have a vote but CWt doesn't? I started at USF in 2005 so the Big East days are obviously my favorite. CWT would be second though.
