Great recruiting tool for us. We're not swimming in the same recruit pond that UM is so it gets guys on our campus that may get turned down by UM. Win Win for USF.

For taggart's,sake I hope he keeps winning. As long as he does, that Michigan will continue to come to tampa since he will still be here.

I'm of the opposite mindset. Big P5 team coming into our school flexing their muscle and money, buying us off for our fertile recuriting grounds. Makes us look small time. I don't see how this will help us at all in recruiting.

Even SEC folk are thinking the same thing.  I think Harbaugh did or was going to do a similar camp in rural Alabama.

I see both sides, but I'm going with Southshore ... not everyone that goes to those camps will end up at Michigan.  Maybe there will be some mutual good impressions between those guys and USF.

I'll say one thing ... whoever thought of doing this, whether Harbaugh or someone else ... props to them for an innovative idea and recruiting outside of territory.  Almost any time you have SEC coaches complaining about something you're doing, you're doing something right.

Am I right in reading that his camp is at USF? Apparently, CWT gave him the green light for this.

Willie's his prodigy, he can't insult his mentor by saying no, can he? :stirpot:

brilliant move. harbaugh will draw some big time recruits. recruits that would never set foot on our campus. gives us a chance to sell them on USF.

Michigan might pluck 3 or 4 from the area that we would never have a chance at anyway. why not let him draw 100's to his camp to let them see what we have to offer. you know he'll let Taggart help run the thing and let him evaluate all the players.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

    Michael Kelly
