Article about the reported transfers: http://tbo.com/sports/colleges/usf-bulls/report-usf-point-guard-collins-to-transfer-20150323/?page=1

From the article, this one's for you, DEL:

“When I was a freshman, somebody told me that freshmen will always remember their seniors, the guys you look up to,’’ Anderson said then. “To me, as a senior, I’m going to remember my freshman (Collins). I’m definitely going to remember him. He has done more for me and this team than most people could even imagine.’’

I would love to see AC tear it up at a small school and make a splash in the NCAAT next year.

JJ's article today kind of sums it up for me:

He should have received a standing ovation, the chance to linger at the Sun Dome’s mid-court while hearing the cheers and love. He deserved a rousing Senior Night send-off.

Instead, men’s basketball point guard Anthony Collins, No. 2 all-time in career assists, will quietly leave the University of South Florida in May after receiving his degree in interdisciplinary social sciences.

Although I know it's best for both parties involved, he really did deserve that.

From the same article, the official explanation:

“Anthony and I met after the season and we had a mutual understanding that he will pursue other opportunities next season,’’ USF coach Orlando Antigua said in a statement released Wednesday.

He'll get an enormous standing ovation when he walks the stage at graduation.

Also believe that he was in range to become the USF all time assist king.

That's killer coming from Anderson, IMO he was the heart of the team for that NCAAT season. And I agree he deserves an ovation for his freshman year, and for toughing it out on the team with injuries and a new coach. But with Peters and the other new guard we just signed, the writing was on the wall...fair winds to AC, he'll surely get on the court somewhere.

He'll have no problem getting a scholarship from some current NCAA tourney team school.

ESPN ranks AC 5th best transfer. It will be interesting to see where he lands.

Can we trade him straight up for Derrick Gordon?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
