Winstons ability to read defenses is why he's the number one pick. In the no huddle offense mariotta is used to defenses didn't have time to adjust so the plays coming down from Oregon's booth would take advantage of that. Much easier for a qb to look good in that offense.

So why the high INT numbers last year?

According to Jimbo Fisher, a combination of trying to make too many big plays plus some not his fault.

He tries to force it instead of just taking what the defense gives him.
