How many Heisman winning QBs have been successful in the NFL?

I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Roger Staubach

Carson Palmer (to an extent)

Cam Newton

and staubach sat out 4 years because of navy commitment

you need tofind a qb in 3 -6 round because of salary cap

committing all money to a  rookie  qb will kill you

They changed the pay structure for rookies several years ago. Rookie salaries are a minimal cap hit, and the Bucs have typically been one of the teams, if not THE team, with the most cap space available.

You don't think Winston will work to get better?

He doesn't seem to have the same work ethic as Mariotta.

Not sure where you get that idea at all.

I don't know, just a feeling I have, based on what I know.

Did Joe Namath have a good work ethic - on the field, where it matters?

Actually, in this day it does matter what he does off the field.  A suspension could be really bad.  To your question, I don't know what kind of work ethic Namath had.

It was apparently good enough to win a super bowl, no?

With the visibility and issues Winston's had, he's going to be poked and prodded like an alien during the pre-draft process

I understand, it's just my gut feeling about it.
