Anyone know if Lockette tried to offer him at Oregon State?

I'm leaning towards no. Unless the kid thought the allure of D2 football being played at Palm Bay High School's stadium was too much to pass up for the PAC-12.

It's possible. FIT has some great degree possibilities for the "engineering inclined."

If he's sandbagging his football career for academics, good for him.

BTW, Ziarno committed to Florida Tech...

Ah ok. There's a wide receiver there by the name of Xavier Milton that really has scouts' attention. Melbourne is REALLY far out of their way for these scouting trips and that's one disadvantage the area has. But they've come to see Milton anyway.

His father told me that he had an FBS offer but if he felt it wasn't a quality offer then I could see him eschewing it for the promise of a good degree, plus staying local.

By "wasn't a quality offer", you mean one that probably wouldn't hold up until NSD?

Kid can't buy a break sometimes though. He is 24 of 30 (80%) for 234 yards (9.8) against Lakeland Christian, has 9 runs for 58 yards and 2 TDs on top of it...they lose the game 26-32. Similar to when he was 29 of 45 for 400 yards, 5 TD, 0 INT with 3 runs for 12 yards and another TD...and they lost 46-63.

Gotta love high school football.

Would you rather score 6-3 and lose or 26-32 and lose ???

Are you asking us or CWT ?

That or no real chance to compete for the start. If the kid wants to play football it doesn't do him any good to be third string his whole career at an FBS school.

I don't consider winning a national championship in the next couple years sandbagging? Sandbagging would be going to a school who struggles to win 2 games a year

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
