But we get to watch her at least one more time!

Beating the Gamecocks gives Sara another shot at FSU tomorrow at noon.

Watching her from the outfield camera, virtually EVERY pitch she throws is illegal. It's all a matter of whether it gets called or not. This rule really needs to get changed soon.

That's what I thought as well.  Could never really see her dragging the toe.  With it being an issue 2 years ago at the college world series you woulda thunk that Erickson would have corrected it.  Either that or didn't care as long they didn't call it during the season and she got him to the post season.  If she has been doing it all her life it must be something that would be tough to change.

We will miss her greatly in the future.  100 wins?  Tough to replace.

As Sellular mentioned, she's only been called 4 times during the entire season

She wasn't called for it until the... 3rd (?) inning when the FSU coaches complained to the refs.

It's a hard habit to break if it seems like it's ruled OK during the course of the season. It doesn't force/make you to correct your form.

Regardless of the rule, Sara is one helluva pitcher. Fully expect her to make the pros now.

Thanks for a wonderful season, and all the best going forward!

Is there an illegal pitch rule in the pros?

I hope not ... Otherwise she'll have to make a drastic change that will affect her dominance, I'm afraid ... Like Charsibb said, she is one helluva pitcher.

Yes but different.

In Int'l rules, an illegal pitch is if the pitcher hops and then pushes on the landing to gain momentum on the pitch (pitching after this action.)

Completely different as Sara slightly hops and drags forward while pitching. She also never pushes off.

You're right ... She should do fine at the next level then.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
