Come back from St. Martin to read about this.  Two thoughts.  Saw Herm Edwards speak at USF a year or so ago.  He said something to the effect that before you hit Send, read it again and think about it.  Good advice.

2nd thought.  Isn't there a former USF player that is a personal trainer right here in Tampa? He was the guy that survived that capsized boat ordeal years back where 3 others passed away.  I wouldn't be upset to see us bring in a former player.  Name is escaping me right now. Think he played tight end.

Maybe he can bring back Chris Hovan?  Loved having him on the sidelines.

We just need access to publix deli. "Publix stadium" anyone?

I've always wondered about this.  With Publix headquarters being in Lakeland, and with the presence they have locally, I wonder if conversations about a so-called "Publix Stadium" have ever taken place.

Always issues.

tis what keeps life interesting!

at least typical off season topics have seemed to be kept at bay... for now.

This would have never happened if we had an OCS, the right color on our helmets, and proper marketing.

Don't forget on-campus Publix!

Now that would be something, one hell of a recruiting tool. Might have even been able to find some extra food for poor ole lynch.

If we had an OCP, Jameis Winston comes to USF, and history is forever altered.[however, our co-eds are happy he went to FSU]

If he comes to USF, we go 4-8 instead of 2-10, he doesn't even sniff the Heisman, and no one recognizes him as he walks out of the Publix with not just a crab but also the entire lobster tank.

In a culture of "Political Correctness" and with recent events in the News (Sterling, Don Jones (Miami Dolphins player) Rutgers ect....) USF's hands were tied.  He should had kept the thought to himself or between he and Lynch or himself and Coach T. Shouldn't had put it there for the World to see.(he WAS affiliated and a representative of USF)

In this day and age with Social Media, the minute u post something or "hit Send" like Coach T said it is out there for the world to see. Society is changing people, (not sure its a good thing or not, and not I'm  not arguing for or against it). Im saying our speech now has greater consequence's than before. Back in the day you could say anything you wanted, offensive, truthful or not and get away with it. People didn't jump all over it, pass it around, or turned a blind eye towards it. Not anymore. Society is getting soft or less tolerant of people saying things they shouldn't.

Hopefully he learns from this, and does well in his next venture. But USF had to pull the trigger to show that our Student, Coaches and Professors need to be sensitive to the needs of others and their words have consequences(some good some bad).

Time to move on Bulls fans and lets hope we hire someone as good or better and this doesn't happen again.

This had nothing (ok, not everything) to do with political correctness.

Straub insulted Taggart and basically told the world he disagrees with Taggart.

Clearly the 49ers got input from Taggart before drafting Lynch.  Ergo, Taggart had good things to say about Lynch.  Straub making those comments was him telling the world that Taggart is a liar, or isn't smart enough to realize that Lynch is a guy that has no character.

Either way, in addition to making the university he works for look bad, he also made his head coach look bad.

No way he could keep his job.

The bottom line is that he not only insulted Lynch with that tweet, but he also insulted the whole SF 49er organization with that tweet. He embarrased CWT after Taggart vouched for him to Harbaugh who is like a brother to him. Insulting SF 49ers and your own player in one tweet was one of the worse things that he could have done. That is why I was hoping someone hacked into his Twitter account because I knew he was pretty much toast after that post came to light. There were already so many retweets of that. Former players were pissed off that he would tweet such a thing. It also hurt the perception of future recruits in that USF would be associated with a staff member dogging their own student athlete out in public. So, USF had to do something. Sorry, you just cant tweet something like that. He hit a homerun for one of the dumbest tweets ever made by a USF staff member.

^This.  Dead on.  His poke was a Lynch, but also a head shot at Harbaugh & the 49ers. That couldn't stand.

And USF.  And Taggart.
