Do I understand that we have a new AD and an old AD but the guy who met with Stan Heath was an associate AD? That's BS. Coach Heath is a class act and should have been told by his boss. And since Harlan does not start until April that should have been Doug.

Doug being Doug.  I'm not surprised nor am I concerned at this point.

I will lose faith in Judy if she undermines harlan's authority by letting woolard hang around for a year and a half while Harlan takes his crack at saving our moribund athletics program.

pay the man to go away!!!!!

Per Joey Johnston:

Woolard, although he is no longer the athletic director, will remain at USF until July 2015 at his full base salary of about $560,000 annually.

Sucks but if thats what it takes...
Takes for what? I'd like to know what exactly Doug is doing now to earn the EXACT SAME BASE PAY as when he was the AD!!! Did he really do that little that it's a wash? Is Judy just letting him go fishing this last year+ and shuffling donor dollars his way cause he's a nice guy? What's he doing to earn his paycheck?

Umm....

Fulfilling the legal terms of his contract?

And.....you weren't finished, right? How, again?

USF is flush with cash

Woolard and USF have a contract. The terms need to be fulfilled, regardless whether or not USF is, "flush with cash".
I think some people on here expected DW to forfeit his pay since he was fired, just like every professional athlete who's ever been released says "no thank you" when the team tries to pay them.

Please link RE: DW being fired.

Correct. Woolard was relieved of his AD duties, but "reassigned" to an unspecified role within the University.

He was not fired.

LOL that people think this may be a pension issue.

everyone involved needs to lawyer up like grown UPS and hammer this thing out next week.

its not fair to young Harlan if crusty, bitter, shitecanned woolard hangs around for the next 1.5 years.

let's start fresh

He is vested, true.  But, the FRS will take the average of the last 5 years salary when they either retire or enter DROP.  Also factored into the pension is a multiplier dictated by years of service.  It could be that an extra year moves him to the next multiplier.  Depending on when he got his last raise in base salary, it can also increase the average salary the multiplier is applied against.
