Serious question. Knowing the .03 second rule, why not throw the ball straight to the basket? Or was the throw-in that far off the mark?

Best case you actually make a basket, worst case scenario would be goaltending wouldn't it?

Pet peeve. Not .03 seconds. 0.3 seconds.

For a basket to count it must touch a player. Cannot throw it on the inbounds.

I don't think you can shoot for the basket from the inbound.

Pretty sure he did just that.

 

Try throwing a 10" round ball 94 feet at an 18" target, with a 7'3" giant trying to block your throw.

 

Quite a challenge...

Makes sense. I guess that's why the guy had to turn and shoot instead of "tipping" it in from four or five feet away.
