Shades of Jon Lejiste ...

Another guy who seemed to peak as a soph.  I hope Cooper sticks around, and helps develop these young DBs.  I saw a lot of growth in Robbins, Godwin, Ward & Childs.  Durden was quieter, but has a lot of upside.  If Cooper can develop, the secondary could quickly be the strength of the D (speaking of...our DBs need some serious gym time).

Shades of Jon Lejiste ...

Jon used to bring the wood in 2009. He did not improve from there. I think the HC philosophies had something to do with that.

Didn't he wear #1 his senior year?  Watching that film was cool...especially the classic FSU knock out hit that set the tone for the big road win.

Unfortunately like Joyce, Lejiste did not have the foot speed to get to the next level. Both guys were great hitters though.

And if Byrd really is as fast as his tape shows, he's got the speed. This is going to be a tough team, on all sides of the ball.

Joyce should have been move to weakside linebacker. Not enough range for where he was playing. Undersized at LB but 3d down pass rush like Curtis weatherspoon.

Holtz had about as much input on defense and Taggart does.  Very nearly zero.
