UConn was the only ranked team and the only at large from the conference (not counting L'ville). We wouldn't have been in without the tourney win. Like most sports, most of the new conference is middle of the pack... Tulsa and Navy are decent futbol teams but E. Carolina and Tulane weren't even included in the rankings... It's going to be much like basketball in the fact that it will be extremely top heavy with USF, UCF, UCONN, and Navy... That's if UCF can't get their crap together... Ummmm, Tulane and ECU don't have soccer programs

The men's soccer team, 8-3-9, fresh off of their AAC tournament championship are back in the NCAA dance for the 7th straight season and hit the road for the first round (game starts at 7 PM). The Bulls be facing North Carolina, 8-5-5, in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels are 4-4-2 on the year and play a similar style to USF, defense, goalkeeping, and clutch shooting late. Prepare for another close game in this one. The Tar Heels are led by junior forward Tyler Engel (5'7" 163 lbs.) who leads the team with 6 goals and 2 assists. Junior forward Cooper Vandermaas-Peeler (5'8" 155 lbs.) has 3 goals and 3 assists, giving UNC two strong front line attackers with Engel. Sophomore midfielder Raby George (5'10" 160 lbs.) has 3 goals and 1 assist. Senior forward Josh Rice (6'1" 190 lbs.) had 2 goals and 2 assists to round out the Tar Heel attack. Brentton Muhammad, who has been so clutch for USF late in the year, will have to be at his best while dealing with a balanced attack from UNC that has to many attackers that can score all across the board. In net for UNC is junior Brendan Moore (6'2" 200 lbs.) who had made 50 saves on the year while allowing just 12 goals (.806 save percentage). Lindo Mfeka, Stiven Salinas, Edwin Moalosi, and others will have a hard time getting a clean look at net with Moore back there. This game will be a battle that could easily go to overtime or even beyond. This game is going to be a battle. On one hand you have the UNC Tar Heels at home but coming off of a loss in their only game in the ACC tournament. Then you have the Bulls, a team no one had in the dance, coming off of a huge win over 11th ranked Uconn in the AAC tournament, on short rest, but with a lot of momentum. This game will go down to the wire and no one is sure what will happen. The winner will have to make a long trip out west to face 12th seeded UC Irvine on Sunday at 5 PM. First thing is first, time to handle business.
