Is soccer USF's strongest sports franchise (using this term freely)?

 

I'd vote for sailing, if that counts.  Men's soccer and women's softball would be pretty close, if I had a vote.

I wouldn't really disagree with that order.  

 

But we allegedly have a national championship in sailing, which is why I bumped it ahead of soccer.

Even with our new conference, we are nationally known. So if we can ever figure out how to score goals again, we'll be in the hunt for at large selections. Think about it, we only have 3 losses.

Don't know if it's already been brought up but it looks like the conf realignment is going to take its' toll in soccer, too. UConn was the only ranked team and the only at large from the conference (not counting L'ville). We wouldn't have been in without the tourney win.

 

UCF is normally pretty strong in soccer.

 

They were ahead of us in the regular season standings.

 

 

Both they and, I think, Rutgers had a higher RPI ... We most probably wouldn't have been going to the NCAA's if we hadn't won the tourney.

Like most sports, most of the new conference is middle of the pack... Tulsa and Navy are decent futbol teams but E. Carolina and Tulane weren't even included in the rankings... It's going to be much like basketball in the fact that it will be extremely top heavy with USF, UCF, UCONN, and Navy... That's if UCF can't get their crap together...

 

Ummmm, Tulane and ECU don't have soccer programs

 

 

That could possibly explain why they weren't in the rankings ...
