Not that I'm rooting against White, but this is EXACTLY why I don't get high on a player after only one game. The post-Houston White adulation (i.e., will be the greatest USF QB ever!) was ridiculous way premature.

I'll say this, there have been a lot of snap overreactions on this board (good and bad), but the Mike White "Greatest Ever" takes the cake.

Not that I'm rooting against White, but this is EXACTLY why I don't get high on a player after only one game. The post-Houston White adulation (i.e., will be the greatest USF QB ever!) was ridiculous

The majority of our fanbase was looking for a big reason to celebrate where this team Is going. White was that. I think most rational fans saw it as a typical USF overreaction. He can still be good

I was excited too, but we just have to face the fact that we don't have any players that can help us transcend what an overall bad team we are.  

 

Someone said after the Houston game that their defense was really bad and that Mike White looked better because of that.  He cautioned us to not get too excited.  That person may well be the direct descendant of Nostradamus.

I said Houston's pass defense was ranked somewhere in the 100's and to not get too excited after one game. A couple others said similar things.
