Man i cant even make a guess on this....southern piss has really gotten bad quickly over a short period of time and La Tech is being led to the same place by yours truly....who ya got?

Although I don't get the hate towards Southern Miss, if there is one coach that can find a way to lose to a terrible team, it's Skip Holtz.

This would be a fun topic, making a list, with valid reasons of people / schools USF fans have a legitimate reason to dislike (not just emotion and the reason has to be valid for USF in general, and not just one fan (like saying their obnoxious neighbor is a FSU fan). 

 

Jeff Bowers (I think was his name) Southern Miss Head Coach circa 2000, took a shot at USF in the media, saying C-USA football needed more quality than quantity in response to USF joining the league.

yeah and their fans claimed that SoPiss didn't make a move to keep us out of CUSA until 2003 either--- which I think is nonsense. Had we gotten in a year earlier-- I feel we had a legitimate shot of winning the conference with our very good, senior laden 2002 team.

 

anyway-- it's easy to hate them as a fanbase, as message board arrogant jerks, as so many things. Beating them was so sweet. I believe we rushed the field we were so excited

Now they are 3-5. Last year, They were 9-3 including beat at Houston.. LOL

It wasn't Southern Miss that was vocal to keep us out. Our fans mistook Bowers speaking for the President/ AD. It was UAB that kept us out.

 

UAB was forced to wait 2 years to get in, so they complained to make us wait as well. We wanted 2001, we got 2003.

 

Paul Griffin saw Southern Miss as a potential rival (remember, they were one of the best in the league back in the day) and never spoke up to correct our fan back on who was to blame, until years later.
