I don't think so .... at least not technically, according to this:

In a grayshirt situation, a student-athlete attends college classes but is not an official member of a team and does not practice or compete.

He was sent to a junior college basically to get his grades up so he could come here.

Went to prep school. Not juco. Bkind of like 13th grade. Big difference is that his eligibility clock did not start running yet.

Weird. I've never heard of such a thing. Why don't all guys do that instead of going to Juco if they have grade issues?

I think Mayes only had a couple classes or a test score that kept him out and he knew he'd be good after a semester. Most guys need more work to get in

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
