The horrendous 1st half is when the D score more than the O. I know that they aren't perfect but it seems that some of you will never be happy until we play a perfect game. Without our defense we are 0-6.

If we played ONLY on defense we would be 5-1

Only thing that needs to go is the 3 man DL.   Doesn't help against the run or the pass.

I think the problem with the first half was they were feeling out a new coach and QB. They really didn't know what to expect. After halftime, you could see adjustments and we looked noticeable better.

Guess you're forgetting the numerous picks the offense threw or the fumbles. Perhaps the numerous three and outs?

That big run up the gut for the TD hurt us. Glad to see them bounce back from that. I give UCONN credit for the good blocking on that play.  Overall, the Defense has improved from the past few years. Chris Cosh was terrible. The worse. He cost Holtz his job. 

 

Did Cosh tell Holtz a joke at half time of that Miami game last year? You know, when he was laughing all the way to the locker room with 3 timeouts and a FG in his pocket? Cosh was bad, no doubt, but, Holtz took it upon himself to do a terrible job and get fired.

It so much more enjoyable to watch USF with a good defense. Those past few years killed me. I would rather watch a team struggle on offense then to struggle on defense.  Losing 28-35 got old. I would rather see these tough defensive wins. Thanks so much to CWT and BIG CHUCK Da Breeze for getting this turned around

 

 

was it good defense or teams we played had terrible offense

 

we are in the 90s and 100s on team defensive stats

 

our dc is lucky if he has ajob at the end of the year

We are 12th in blocked kicks, 12th in fumbles recovered, 45th in 1st down defense, 92nd in 4th down conversions allowed, 82nd in kickoff return defense, 25th in pass yds allowed, 27th in punt return defense, 15th in red zone defense, 66th in rushing defense, 93rd in scoring defense, 109th in pass sacks, 44th in passing efficiency defense, 45th in tackles for loss, 26th in turnovers gained, and 37th in total defense.
