If we win the conference, it would be the ultimate embarrassment to the AAC.

 

I disagree El_Toro, if we were to win, we'd have to go on some hellish win streak and beat some decent team in the process.  I'm assuming we'd have to beat UL, UCF and Cincy to get there.  It would mean we just had very poor play at the beginning of the season which could be blamed on a new coach, a new system, our third QB, etc.  Really, a win against UCF and anticipating the meltdown that would occur in Mouseville gets me all goose pimply.

A bench-led offense seems much more promising than the alternatives

Bench still doesn't know the playbook fluidly enough to run more than a handful of plays effectively. Taggart said in his presser that Bench is out there thinking too much. The flow should be read-react. Bench is doing read-think-react, which is why Taggart didn't stick him out there yet.

We could potentially get good enough on offense, considering the defense doesn't give up, to win some games (UConn, Memphis).

While Bench might not grasp every angle of the playbook like an expert senior QB, I'm not buying he can't run a good portion of it at this point.

 

Agree.  I have watched all three games. Hands down he is better that either of the others.

Maybe CWT is the anti Leavitt/Holtz....lose all the NC games and win all the conference games.

It's our only hope.

Bench is a gamer. I feel a lot more confident with him going in and Eveld/Floyd being backups. Still, the Offensive Line must step it up BIG TIME if we have any chance of winning a game this year. If we can just get some momentum in the conference...and never let it go. We need to grab Mo and run with it for an entire game and carry it to the next game.

Who cares, we still win the conference. At this point, that's all I have to look forward to now, besides our tailgates.

i would take 0-4 in OOC play if we can win a conference title.

at this point i would consider the season a success if we beat UCF. beat Miami AND UCF and i'm ******* ECSTATIC!!!
